Button-Lock Control Cables Empty
PostSubject: Button-Lock Control Cables   Button-Lock Control Cables EmptyTue Jul 07, 2009 10:50 pm

I am trying to locate a company that can repair or re-construct my existing button-lock control cables for a Stinson L-5E project. The outer casings of both cables are cracked in several places which causes the cable to kink when rounding corners which in turn tends to stiffen the push-pull movement of the cable.
I have contacted several companies and the overall conclusion seems to be that they are not repairable or it would not be economically feasible to repair them. Has anyone else ever resolved this problem?

Are you talking about the Mixture and Carb Heat controls? I looked at getting some repaired for my project, but couldnt find anyone to do so. They are hard as heck to find but I think a man here in Dallas has one of them. PM me if interested.

Marty,
Had the same problem with the elevator trim cable. We had to buy 108 parts and put disassemble them to make a new cable for the L-5. I have an A.I. friend who may be able to help you if you are interested in having someone work on it for you or give you advice. Drop me an email. jr@sabereng.com
