| Mr. Todd, a resident of Texas came to the Alamo Liaison Squadron's annual Bluebonnet Picnic in May 2008. Below is a photo of him flying in an L-5 with me at the picnic. You can read his blog here: http://ldtodd.teaguez.com/ which contains stories of his wartime experiences. Ryan | |

| Yes, here are some of the photos. Mr. Todd with the other members of his flight in the 163rd Liaison Squadron One of the 163rd's L-5s stateside Another L-5 stateside I think that both aircraft above were likely deployed with the squadron, but James Gray might know otherwise... I'll have to dig out another photo later, but here's a profile I drew of one of the 163rd LS aircraft that Mr. Todd flew in Okinawa. That drawing was on the back of a brochure I printed up for Wings Over Houston 2008. It included a history of the L-5, a frame able art profile on the back, and a cardmodel of the aircraft. If anyone is interested in a similar brochure for their L-bird, let me know! Ryan | |

| Judging from the fields and terrain in the middle photograph of 44-16945, it was most likely taken near Schofield Barracks in Hawaii. This is one of the planes the 163rd took with them to Okinawa, so it wouldn't have seen any training duty "stateside". The only other stateside bases of the 163rd LS were at Cox Field (Paris, TX) and Brownwood (SW of Dallas). Again, using the landscape as a guide, the bottom photo of 42-98389 was probably taken near Cox Field or possibly Texarkana where the 163rd spent a short time on TDY. | Is that now the Brownwood airport? That big hangar looks the same as the one at the Brownwood airport. I was there in January 2009 checking out a PA-11 for sale. | |

| Ok, here's the next photo for the thread! Mr. Todd actually has quite a few pictures from his time training in Brownwood. This picture directly correlates to the formation flying practice I've been doing (as I can) with ALS. Ryan | |
