I would suggest that the Boeing YL-15 would be a contender. Having read the flight manual for it (and the XL-15) I am very impressed. The US however was introducing helicopters at the time and production was limited to a trial batch. Are there any left today?

I think POF either had one or Yanks had one back in the early 80s.
