Found a neat set of L-4 photos after clicking on a link at the Warbirds Information Exchange (WIX) Forum. Original context page is: http://lostgallery.blogspot.com/search/label/Piper%20Cub. The web page there indicates that they think it was assigned to a bomb outfit. Any thoughts?

So this is a hack from a bomber outfit based in England? They're going to be fooling around with bazookas on their squadron hack flying in the skies over Merry Olde? I can see the Colonel approving THAT stunt! Where are they even going to get their hands on bazookas in England?

I don't know where they got it, but it sure looks like fun!
